At the base of the largest mountain stands a grand palace of grey stone, decorated in silver. In the middle of the palace is a large open courtyard with a cobblestone floor and entrance into the main hall through a magnificent white oak door. Beside the palace are a number of rolling grassy hills: some decorated by colourful wild-flowers, others populated by a peaceful herd of yaks or a small trip of goats. |
Here, the brook of Halcyon Valley becomes a cavernous ravine as the mountains close in on either side. Their tops are flat and habitable, though the dangerous, rapid waters on their travels have sculpted a number of dark caves and tunnels into the hard rock. The Zephyr Ravine experiences little noise and little life besides the wind that relentlessly whistles through its steep walls.

Between two towering mountains lays a wide expanse of soft grass and sparse woodland. The colossal, silvered, snow-capped peaks shelter the Valley from often brutal elements, though rain and snow still often find their way in uninvited. Maple trees and oaks dot the landscape – their branches home to kingfishers, nightjars, and the occasional tawny owl – and a narrow, shallow brook splits the valley in half.
